One last blog entry

June 28th, 2018

Today was my last day at school. I am officially finished all of the items on my year end check list. It is quite exciting to look at a whole summer spread out ahead of me. I wanted to take a moment to thank each family for a great school year. I am so proud of how hard the students have worked and the progress that they have made. Thank you for your hard work and partnering with me. Also, a great big thank you for the cards, gifts and kind words. They mean so much!

Many people ask me what I do with all my free time and the truth of it is that I love to be outside with Scout. This summer I also have the opportunity to begin a course in Equine Facilitated Wellness. It should be a busy and fun summer. I look forward to seeing you in the hallways next year and chatting with you about your summer as well.

Happy Summer!

Mobile Dairy

June 18th, 2018

We had a visit from the Mobile Dairy today! It was great to get out of the classroom even if it was HOT! We all learned some things about milk cows that we did not know.

Just a quick heads up for our Rodeo Fun Day on Wednesday, June 20th: some of our centres will be outside and the weather forecast is for a hot day. Please apply sun screen on the students before they come to school. We are all still quite fair and don’t want any sun burns!

Grade 1 Year End Field trip

June 14th, 2018

We had a great day for our field trip today even though the weather was causing us concern! The students really needed the play time and behaved so well. It was fun to see the classes playing together and having fun. Thank you to the parents who were brave to join us!

Get Air Abby/ Garrison Spray Park

June 13th, 2018

As I watch the rain pour down outside and the thunder gently rumble, I cannot help but think about tomorrow’s field trip. I have perused a few weather apps and chosen a weather forecast that suits me best. It appears that we could possibly have cloudy skies and not pouring rain in the afternoon tomorrow.

We will go to the spray park rain or shine because the children are so excited to go. If it is pouring rain, I will bring them back to the school after the trampoline park for a longer lunch time and then take them to the spray park around 1:30. If it is cloudy skies, then we should be at the spray park by 12:30.

I’m sorry if this seems a bit vague, but the weather forecast is changing so quickly. I think we will need to play this by ear. See you tomorrow! Hopefully!

Last Pizza Day

Father’s Day Baking

June 11th, 2018

I would like to bake with the kids on Friday to send home some cookies for Father’s Day. Is anyone able to send along some dough for us to bake? I could also use a parent helper from 9:00 -10:00. If you are able to help us out, feel free to send me an email!

Benanna Lake

June 11th, 2018

We had a great day at Benanna Lake. The kids needed to run and play and we had lots of space. We did a nature walk, climbed into the hayloft, visited the horses, played in the sandbox, saw a tractor pulling logs and played with the dogs. It was a full day! It rained a bit at the beginning, but we were fortunate that the weather cleared! Thank you, Lord! The BBQ was good! Thank you for bringing a picnic item to share and thank you to the parents who came along to help. It was much appreciated!
