Christmas Decorating Party

November 14th, 2019

It’s hard to believe that December is coming up so quickly! I am planning a Christmas decorating party for the students on Monday, December 2nd from 1-3. I will be planning 5 Art stations and would love to have 5 or more parent helpers. If you are not able to join us, I would also love to have some Christmas snacks for the students. Feel free to send me an email if you are able to come in and help or send a snack!

Bowling

November 13th, 2019

Just a reminder that we will be going Bowling tomorrow, November 14th. Our lane time is 1:30-2:30pm. Students can wear playclothes tomorrow. All parents are welcome to join us to watch or help.

Just a reminder that criminal record checks are needed in order for parents and grandparents to join us.

Reading Bags

November 12th, 2019

I will send home book bags today! In each book bag is an easy, medium and harder book. The hope is that the children will work on reading the easy book to you and that you can read the medium and hard book to them. As their reading ability increases, they can read all three books to you! I will not send books home with the students who are bringing books home from Mrs. Wilson. If you have lots of books at home and would prefer not to be responsible for another set, feel free to email me and I won’t send a book bag home with your student. There are a few students who are reading chapter books so if you want harder books, let me know!

Each Monday I will send a new book bag home with the students who have returned their bag from the previous week.

Skating

November 6th, 2019

Our first skating day went well! The children had lots of fun despite contant falling on the ice. It is amazing how quickly they improve! Thank you to the parents who showed up to tie skates!

Planners

November 5th, 2019

Today we are writing in our Planners for the first time. The students are printing well and are now able to be responsible for their Planners. The students will bring them home each night for you to sign and then bring them back to school each morning for me to sign. If you would like to write a note to me, the Planner is a great place as I will check it each morning. I will also jot down notes for you every once in a while! The students are excited about this new adventure!

Robert Munsch Unit

November 5th, 2019

We are now finished our Robert Munsch Unit. The students really enjoyed it and were sad when we came to our last book. We were able to read 60 Munsch books in the month of October! Thank you to the parents who sent in their books from home!

We are now on to the Magic Treehouse series and the students seem to love them as well!

2D and 3D shapes

November 5th, 2019

We are finishing up our shapes unit with a building activity. Students are using toothpicks and mini marshmallows to build as many 3D shapes as they can. I have to admit that mini marshmallows do not taste as good as I remember from my childhood.

November 5th, 2019

Just a heads up that Knight Day has been cancelled for Friday due to our Remembrance Day Service. Students should come to school in their regular uniform.

The service will start at 2pm and parents are welcome although seating will be limited.
