First Nations Day

May 10th, 2019

We had a great day on Monday studying about First Nations culture. We rotated from classroom to classroom all day doing fun and interactive centres. My centre was making bannock. There were a lot of happy and sticky kids!

Blog update gone wrong

May 10th, 2019

Due to a difficult blog update in which I did not back up my posts, all posts after April 15 have been lost. Sorry about that. I will repost my two posts from First Nations Day in case you didn’t get to see them!

Blue Heron Reserve

April 5th, 2019

We had a great time at the Blue Heron Reserve today. The rain mostly held off and the temperature was good. We saw lots of herons and learned so much! It was super exciting for the students to get binoculars to help them see more clearly.

I thought that blue herons made nests on the ground. I was very surprised to see that they build their nests high in the trees!

Grandparent’s Day

April 5th, 2019

Just a reminder that Tuesday, April 9th is Grandparent’s Day beginning with a tea at 12:30pm and ending with open classrooms for Grandparent’s to wander through and visit their Grandchildren. If you do not have Grandparent’s close by, other special adults may come instead so that all children may feel supported.

Just a reminder that the Grade One class is headed out to the Blue Heron Reserve on Friday, April 5th. We will be leaving the school at 1:00pm and returning by 3pm. There is room on the bus if you would like to join us or you could meet us there.

I am missing some field trip forms. If you need another one, feel free to drop in and pick one up.

Silent Auction Baskets

April 1st, 2019

The week before spring break we were collecting $5 per elementary student to put together grade level baskets for our upcoming gala silent auction.  We thought it might be good to extend our collection of donations for this week as well.  If you are able to donate $5 to help us make a basket for the silent auction, your child can give the donation to their teacher or pay at the office.  Thank you!
