Here are the Spelling Words for the week of April 29, 2024:

Grade 1: page, after, show, thank, what, spring, summer, fall, winter, or

Grade 2: wind, race, perch, saw, left, fill, part, group, place, fudge

Challenge words: only, these, open, city, bare

There has been an incredible improvement with many students’ spelling tests!  Bravo for practicing at home!  It is making a huge difference.

Pictures from our Blue Heron Reserve fieldtrip!

Hello parents!

We had a fabulous day of learning and playing at the Blue Heron Reserve yesterday!  The students were able to learn some new art skills taught by a great artist.  I hope you were able to see the drawings they brought home.

We also had a great time learning about pond habitats, food webs and all the creatures that live there!  What a blessing to experience God’s great creation in new and exciting ways!

PRo-D Day on Friday

Hello parents!

I had forgotten that Friday, April 26, is a Pro-D day!  So, the students’ spelling test will be on Thursday and there will be no school on Friday.

Blue Heron Reserve Field Trip this coming Wednesday (April 24)!

We are getting very excited for our trip to the Blue Heron Reserve!!!  We have been studying Pond Habitats and are hoping we get to see many of creatures that live above and under the water!

Thank you parents for spending time with your child practicing the words for the week.  I noticed quite an improvement in many of the students’ spelling tests today!

Your children have been busy making art and learning how to write an acrostic poem!  I just put them up on the hall bulletin board so come on in and take a look!

Thank you to the wonderful grandparents and visitors that came today!

We had a wonderful afternoon filled with many activities shared together with some loving grandparents and other special visitors!  Thank you to all the grandparents and visitors who took time out of their day to make some very special memories with their grandchildren, neighbors and little friends.  I would say it was a roaring success!

Parent Volunteers

Hello wonderful parents!  I am starting a daily reading program in our classroom and I am looking for a few parent volunteers who would like to help our students with their reading.  We would be doing rotations from 10:30am – 12pm and any help would be appreciated.  It’s a great way to see and support all the learning that’s going on in our classroom!
